Happy 2013

It amazes me every year how quickly time passes by.  I feel so blessed for all the wonderful things in my life and am looking forward to the adventures that will come in 2013.  I appreciate everyone for visiting my blog and leaving kind words of encouragement~  Have a LOVELY New Year!

Layers

The only thought that went through my head while getting dressed this morning was that I wasn't going to stop putting on layers until I was warm.  4 layers later, and I'm only slightly less frozen.  I know, I'm such a wimp....it's not even snowing and I'm complaining about how cold it is.

Travel Acquisitions

What I love about traveling is people watching and feeling inspired...the other is finding fun things while shopping in different countries.  The sweater jacket was purchased at Selfridges while in London  last year...Isabel Marant was a brand that no retailer had really carried yet, so I was super excited when Selfridges had a whole section of Marant.

My flats were a purchase during my first visit to Paris at the huge Louis Vuitton Champ Elysee Flagship.  Every time I wear these flats, I think of my first magical visit to the city of lights.

Waterproofing

When it's a rainy day, I plan my outfit around staying as dry as I can.  

Jacket:  Puffers are always great because the raindrops just rolls off of it.  This one is especially great because it's so warm, light, affordable AND can be folded up and put into a tiny little pouch it comes with.  You can keep in your purse in case you get chilly.

Purse: This is my go to rainy day purse, it's faux leather and is resistant to any splashes.  

Shoes:  These are made of treated leather which can withstand some puddles...but most importantly, It's soled with red, rubber soles.  My red leather bottoms are dry has a bit more traction!

Winter Uniform

This is my usual Winter uniform, especially when it's a cold morning and I want a no-brainer outfit but still look respectable.   I have multiples in these shawl-like sweaters and these stretchy, skinny cords....so I just mix & match and off I go!

Tweed & Maxi

With the temp dropping each day, I'm trying to find creative ways of keeping warm without only wearing pants.  This maxi skirt is super warm because its tight all the way down and is double layered.  The only thing is that because it's so tight, sometimes I feel kind of like a geisha while walking around.

Everyday OTK

It's that time of year again to pull out the OTK boots again!  The boot is great because it adds an extra protective layer from the cold. Today I kept the boot casual with skinny jeans...I feel that sometimes when I wear it with leggings and it's black on black it looks a bit too dark, although I kind of feel like cat woman when I go all black.  Perhaps for Halloween next year.

Fuzzy Wuzzy

Every time I wear this sweater, my friends always comment that I remind them of a teddy bear because I'm so fuzzy and soft.  This is a go to sweater when I want to feel extra cozy on a chilly day.

Preppy Missoni

When I buy knit tank tops, I tend to buy them one size up.  The reason I do that is because I like to layer  them as vests in Winter.  This one in particular is one of my favorite because I love the lovely pattern and mixture of color.

Noir

I have had a thing for the Valentino studded cage shoes for years now.   But, I have had a hard time pulling the trigger, partially because of the insane price point and partially because I didn't like the the how the straps and shoe were contrasting colors.  Then I met the Noir edition.  I was contemplating getting the high heeled version of these, but let's be honest, flats are going to be worn way more times than heels and I need the cost/wear to be as low as possible.

Boyfriend Bling

I've been a skinny denim kind of girl for quite a few years now.  I must say, Boyfriend Denim has really been growing on me.  I love the slouchy ease and comfort with the BFD.  And because the BFD has such a relaxed look, I like to make it a little more femme with heels and a sparkly top.
